2nd Grade: Food Portr... 1 of 23
Description:The students have become familiar with portraiture in the traditional sense: an image of a person that usually shows the face. After viewing artwork by Giuseppe Archimboldo (an artist who used foods and other natural items to represent different facial features), the students broadened their knowledge of what a portrait is. To create their own food portraits, they used different food image as resources. They chose certain foods to represent different facial features, while paying attention to shape, size, and location of these features. The border for the artworks were created by stamping real vegetables on the paper.
